A Gathering of Shadows

Four months have passed since Kell acquired an enigmatic obsidian stone. It had been four months since he first met Delilah Bard. It has been four months since Prince Rhy was wounded, four months after White London's evil Dane twins were overthrown, and four months since Holland's lifeless corpse was thrown into the gap and returned to Black London in a stone.

Now that he's given up smuggling, Kell is restless and has nightmares of dark magical happenings. When he wakes up, all he can think about is Lila, who vanished from the docks like she always intended to. An old buddy is returning to port aboard a pirate ship as Red London finishes up preparations for the Element Games, an elaborate international magic tournament designed to maintain good relations between neighboring nations and provide entertainment.

Another London is reviving as Red London is engrossed in the grandeur and excitement of the Games. A shadow that vanishes throughout the night will eventually resurface in the morning. However, magic always has a delicate balance, and one city must fail in order for another to prosper.
