All the Little Raindrops

The terrifying tale of the kidnapping of two teenagers, their escape, and the sinister mysteries that reunite them with the murder scene years later.

During the spring vacation of their senior year, Noelle Meyer and Evan Sinclair are abducted. Evan's father killed Noelle's mother and got away with it, virtually devastating her family when the murder was considered an accident. Neither of them understands why they were chosen, only that they have a horrible background in common.

The kids get together to confront their abductors, despite having a bond that should have made them enemies. Noelle and Evan endure a series of cruel situations before making a terrifying escape. However, all happy endings have a cost.

When Evan discovers that the crime may still be being committed years later, he revisits it as a private investigator. He asks Noelle for assistance, and together they learn that the Collector, a man with no name, is the source of the answers. Noelle and Evan have to reveal the identity of this enigmatic spectator—the only one with enough knowledge of secrets to defeat their captors—in order to wrap up their case and resolve the ones that came after.

Mia Even though ATLR's is a stand-alone novel, there are some (generic) allusions to the case from Bad Mother, given both stories are set in Reno. To immerse oneself fully in that universe, I would advise reading Bad Mother first.
