Initially, there were 10 individuals—a peculiar blend of unfamiliar faces invited as weekend visitors to a small private island near Devon. There's no sign of their host, an eccentric billionaire they don't know about. All the visitors have in common is a sinister background that they are scared to talk about, along with a secret that will determine their destiny. Because they are all marked for murder. Every room in the house has a framed version of this well-known nursery rhyme:

"Ten young lads went out to eat; one choked himself, and the other nine followed. Nine young lads stayed up late; one had slept in too late, leaving the other eight up late. Eight little lads were passing through Devon when one of them said he would remain, making seven. Seven little boys were cutting sticks; one of them cut himself in half, while the other six sliced up sticks. A bumblebee stung one of the six young boys who were playing with a hive. There were then five. Four of the five little boys entered the Chancery after the first one. Four little boys were heading out to sea when one was devoured by a red herring, making three. A large bear embraced one of the three young lads who were strolling around the zoo. Two little boys were sitting in the sun when one of them became frizzled. One little child wandered out by himself, hung himself, and was never seen again."

Fear increases when they learn that killings are happening just as the rhyme suggests. They become victim one by one. There won't be any before the weekend is out. Who is the mastermind behind this evil plan? Who will survive to tell the story? It is only the dead that are innocent.
