Beautiful Oblivion

Thankfully, the fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin outgrew her childhood before it ended. Since before she could drive, she has worked, and after her first year of college, she moved into her own apartment. Cami, who works as a bartender at The Red Door, doesn't have much time for anything other than work and school until her boyfriend cancels a vacation, giving her her first weekend free in over a year.

Before even receiving his high school diploma, Trenton Maddox, the queen of Eastern State University, began dating other students. Trenton's life was flipped upside down by a horrible catastrophe, and he felt crushed by guilt. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to control him.

Trenton is now living at home with his father, who is a widower, and working full-time at a nearby tattoo business to help pay the expenses, eighteen months later. He sees Cami sitting by herself at a booth at The Red, just as he starts to feel like his life is getting back to normal.
