Betting on You

Bailey, who is seventeen, is not happy to discover an old acquaintance working for her at her new job at a hotel waterpark. After her parents' divorce, Bailey relocated to Omaha, where she met Charlie a year ago during the lengthy flight. Bailey's well-mannered demeanor didn't mesh well with Charlie's pessimism, and his constant commentary was an unpleasant addition to an already emotionally charged experience.

Even while Bailey and Charlie are still such opposites, she begins to look forward to hanging together and chatting about the waterpark patrons and their coworkers—especially the two who are constantly flirting—rather than finding fault with him. Charlie and Bailey wager on whether or not the endearing couple will genuinely end up dating. Bailey is motivated to refute Charlie's assertion that people of different sexes cannot just be friends.

While Charlie tries to divert his attention from his developing feelings for Bailey, he and Bailey closely monitor the love developments of others. Fearful of losing her should his feelings be discovered, Bailey and Charlie's "fake dating" to ruin the awkward small talk between Bailey's mother and her new boyfriend furthers his plot. As Bailey begins to see Charlie as more than just a buddy she can count on during family drama—someone who makes her hands shake and her pulse race—what Charlie had hoped to avoid soon becomes a reality. However, Charlie is hiding something from us. It has to do with Bailey and another wager Charlie might have made. Are the two able to succeed in this endeavor?Or did they already have a fatal relationship because of Charlie's secret?
