A wake-up call is the first step in most life transformations.

Lola Turner had to learn her lesson after rescuing her political father far too often.

Now that her mother died away when she was fifteen, she is determined to become the "New Lola," the version of herself that has always hidden under obligations, remorse, promises, and secrets.

A wake-up call's drawback is that you're the only one who can understand it. Hence, despite her moving on and opening her own bakery on the Ocean View beachfront, she continues to come into contact with her father's disaster.

Ben Coleman left his birthplace and his family's company to follow his real love, which is tattooing and painting. Coleman Ink has grown to encompass his whole universe, and he has customized the company to match his desires rather than the one that was initially planned for him.

He believes there is an intruder until he is awakened early one morning and discovers it is only his new neighbor. His new neighbor seemed to have made it her mission to entice him; she gets up much too early, shows little concern for her own safety.

What transpires, then, if the sour neighbor determines that he must protect her even if she drives him crazy? Will Lola let someone else into her life and share her burden? Can she protect her family's secrets without suffering harm?

Bittersweet is a modern-day version of the gloomy sunshine, romantic rivalry. Although it is the third novel in the Ocean View series, it is stand-alone reading.

It's a long-form romantic comedy with a happily ever after that contains graphic sexual content and foul language. This book is meant for adults only.
