Brother is the story of a boy who is determined to reject the unusual and very unsettling customs of his family.

Miles away from any road, in the middle of Appalachia, sits a twisted farmhouse. The Morrows have found success so far in keeping to themselves. The police don't call on the doors of missing females who go missing by the side of the road. This is fortunate considering what lies under the Morrows' garden.

Michael Morrow, however, is not like the other members of his family at nineteen. The shouts that reverberate across the woods don't please him. Michael longs for normality and is certain that he will one day go outside of West Virginia. He falls in love with Alice right away when they meet; she's a gorgeous girl who works at a record store in the little town of Dahlia. For an instant, he almost loses awareness of the monster he has turned into. However, Rebel, his brother, is only too happy to remind Michael of his position.
