The release date for the English version of 'Death Comes to Pemberley' by P.D. James is Dec 2011. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.

One of the most renowned mystery authors of our day, P. D. James, brings the characters of Jane Austen's famous Pride and Prejudice into a story of murder and emotional mayhem. This is a rare convergence of creative talent.

It is 1803, six years after Elizabeth and Darcy moved into Darcy's opulent home, Pemberley, to begin their life together. Their ordered, tranquil existence seems to be almost impenetrable. Elizabeth is now comfortable in her role as the big house's chatelaine. Fitzwilliam and Charles are their two lovely boys. Elizabeth's father often pays her a visit, her sister Jane and her husband Bingley reside nearby, and there is hopeful chatter about Darcy's sister Georgiana's chances of being married. Additionally, plans are on for their much anticipated yearly fall ball.

Then the aristocratic idyll is disturbed on the eve of the ball. A carriage speeding up the drive is driven by Lydia, the disgraced sister of Elizabeth, who has been expelled from Pemberley together with her husband, the extremely questionable Wickham. Horrified, she stutters out of the carriage and cries out that Wickham has been killed. Pemberley finds himself enmeshed in a terrifying mystery with startling abruptness.

Driven by an enduring love for Jane Austen, P. D. James skillfully recreates the world of Pride and Prejudice, bringing to life the thrill and tension of a deftly written mystery narrative, as only she could.
