That was all that was required. Now, in order to survive a week with my family at a Vermont Christmas lodge, I have to pull off a phony date with my work enemy.
The issue? Miles Taylor is something I detest. I also don't date the folks I work with. However, I'm capable of handling it. I've spent years practicing pretending to be emotional. That Miles never lets me get away with anything shouldn't matter, then. Not to mention that he makes my blood boil faster than a sizzling kettle of wassail. I will therefore just grit my teeth and smile when he gives me that unpleasant grin or makes me go on dates that he knows I'll detest.

It makes me wonder if Miles had his own agenda as his arms seem far too comfy and my feelings start to feel less forced. And I'm beginning to prefer it to mine much more.
