The throne belongs to the first daughter.

The Wolf is entitled to the second daughter.

Red, the only Second Daughter to be born in ages, is meant to be offered to the Wolf in the Wood in the hopes that he would release the gods that the world has taken prisoner.

Red is so glad to be leaving. Despite being plagued by an uncontrollable deadly power, she is aware that she cannot harm the people she loves in the Wilderwood. Once more.

But myths are untrue. The Wolf is not a monster; he is a man. Her magic is a gift, not a hindrance. Furthermore, the monsters the gods have transformed into will engulf Wilderwood and her whole planet if she doesn't figure out how to utilise it.
