Hanna's social life was always going to come to an end when she moved to a space station on the edge of the galaxy. No one warned that she may possibly be murdered by it.

Two new individuals will face the second wave of the BeiTech attack on board the Jump Station Heimdall in the sci-fi tale that started with the breakthrough book Illuminae.

Nik is a reluctant member of a well-known criminal family, while Hanna is the spoiled daughter of the station captain. However, little do the two know that Kady Grant and the Hypatia are directly their route to Heimdall, bearing word of the Kerenza invasion, while they are grappling with the harsh reality of life aboard the most boring space station in the galaxy.

Hanna and Nik are pulled together to defend the station against an elite BeiTech attack squad. However, a wormhole failure on the station might split the space-time continuum in two before supper, and extraterrestrial predators are killing off station inhabitants one by one. Before long, Hanna and Nik will have to battle for more than just their own lives; they will have to decide the destiny of everyone aboard the Hypatia and maybe the whole known universe.

But unwind. They are really capable of this. They wish.
