Halo: The Fall of Reach

The warrior who is the last survivor of the fabled battle that brought humanity to Halo—the destruction of the planet Reach—may hold the key to saving humanity as the terrible Human-Covenant War rages on Halo. This is the whole account of that magnificent but ultimately futile battle, now brought to life for the first time.

There is only one bastion left: the planet Reach. The horrific Covenant juggernaut is sweeping across space with the intention of eradicating humanity. It is the final military stronghold to withstand the assault and is essentially right on Earth's doorstep. But preventing the Covenant from learning where Earth is is a larger concern for the staff here.

The troops seem to have little chance against the Covenant due to their numerical and weaponry disadvantages, but Reach is secretive. It serves as the first training ground for "super soldiers." Code-named SPARTANs, these very skilled fighters are the greatest in the universe; discreet, competent, and lethal due to their unique bioengineering and technological augmentations.

Now, a few SPARTANs are prepared to fight the last battle as the fierce Covenant assault gets underway. They will ruin themselves and murder others, but they will never give up. Additionally, on the enigmatic and antiquated artificial planet known as Halo, at least one of them—the SPARTAN known as Master Chief—will survive to fight another day.
