In this gripping courtroom thriller, a small-town lawyer battles bigotry and corruption.

When Bocephus Haynes, a lawyer from a small town, returns home late one evening, District Attorney General Helen Lewis is there to greet him. Her former spouse was recently murdered. She will soon be taken into custody for his death. She also wants Bo to speak on her behalf.

Many factors are against them. Helen's ex-husband made threats to divulge a sinister secret from her past shortly before he passed away. After his wife passed away, Bo has been in complete disarray. In addition, a crime against his family has characterized his entire life, and as the sole African American lawyer in Pulaski, Tennessee, he still has to deal with discrimination.

With Bo's back on the wall, Helen accepts a bleak future, until a startling revelation upends everything. Justice may be served, but it may come at too great a cost for Bo to endure.
