The release date for the English version of 'Living Dead in Dallas' by Charlaine Harris is Apr 2004. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.

Sookie Stackhouse, a cocktail waitress, is unlucky lately. Her coworker gets slain first, and nobody appears to be concerned. Subsequently, she encounters a monstrous being that administers an agonizing and toxic whipping. The vampires appear, sucking the poison out of her veins with grace (as if they didn't like it).

The main idea is that they kept her alive. Thus, Sookie does a favor to a bloodsucker, and before long, she's in Dallas utilizing her telepathic abilities to look for a missing vampire. She's meant to speak with some of the humans involved, but she has one requirement: the vampires have to swear to act honorably and not hurt the humans. However, it's easier said than done, and all it takes for things to go lethal is one tasty blonde and one little error.
