For a holiday get-together, a metropolitan bookstore owner travels to the English countryside, where she encounters her childhood foe.Elinor Noel, sometimes known as Nory, is happy enough to operate her used book store in London. Nory, who was formerly tormented between her working-class background and the opulent lives of her peers at the upscale private school she attended on scholarship, has now learned how to maintain an equal distance between the two. Therefore, Nory has to brace herself for a very difficult few days when her two closest friends extend an invitation to their whole group to spend the time before their wedding together in the castle close to their former school.Not only does the reunion bring back happy memories, but Nory also has to avoid an unfortunate past relationship. The attraction between her and Isaac, the head gardener of the castle who has nothing but scorn for the "snobby prep school kids," is evident as she practically falls into his arms. And as Nory gets to know Isaac more over the course of the wedding celebrations, she begins to fall deeply in love with the guy she once saw as an adversary.
