Misjudged

A crippled veteran gets drawn into an enigmatic murder case when he accepts a new position as an attorney in a small Wyoming town.

When Sam Johnstone accepted a position in a small Wyoming legal practice, he did so with the hope of finding regeneration. After years of conflict and upheaval in his personal life, the mountains and streams of the west would provide a calm, rejuvenating environment in which to start anew.

Sam learns that there is more going on in this small American town when a local woman is brutally killed. Tommy Olsen, a well-known troublemaker who had slept with the victim, is the accused. Although Sam is disgusted by the crime and is unwilling to assist with the investigation, he meets with Tommy to ensure he is properly represented.

However, nothing is as it seems.

As more information comes to light, what at first seems to be a straightforward case becomes exponentially more convoluted, and Sam consents to represent Tommy in defense.

Sam is enmeshed in the small-town politics and courtroom drama of an increasingly horrifying murder investigation while the identity of the culprit remains a mystery.

However, if Sam is unable to find the truth, an innocent man may suffer the consequences...while the actual murderer remains hidden in the shadows.
