The name Katniss Everdeen is mine.

Why haven't I died?

I ought to be dead.

Despite her house being destroyed, Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire, has managed to live. Gale is out of there. Katniss's relatives are secure. The Capitol has taken Peeta hostage. There is a genuine District 13. There are dissidents. New leaders are in place. There's a revolution happening.

Katniss was purposefully saved from the arena during the brutal and eerie Quarter Quell, and she has unknowingly been a member of the revolution for a considerable amount of time. District 13 has emerged from hiding and is preparing a coup against the Capitol. Except for Katniss, it seems that everyone was involved in the well thought out schemes.

Katniss must be willing to play the role of a pawn, take accountability for many lives, and alter Panem's destiny if the rebellion is to succeed. She has to set aside her anger and mistrust in order to do this. At whatever personal cost, she must become the Mockingjay for the rebels.
