Hamilton's pursuit of vampires This is Anita Blake's eighth adventure, and she has a lot of enemies.
Anita, who has just returned to St. Louis after a six-month absence, is still unable to decide between her two loves, Richard, a werewolf, and Jean-Claude, a vampire. However, when two of the wereleopards she has been observing are kidnapped at a shady club called Narcissus in Chains, she is forced to depend on both for assistance.
Anita gets wounded in the battle and puts herself in danger of turning into a wereleopard herself, but she and her lovers manage to free the wereleopards from the evil individuals imprisoning them. Threatening to have the wereleopard put to death, Richard furiously grabs the one he thinks to be at fault.
Now that her romance with Richard seems to be over, Anita must save that wereleopard from him and the werewolves he commands. She then understands that more lycanthropes are the objective of the people who abducted the first two wereleopards. Perhaps she'll be the next.
For fans of vampire cults, this is an entertaining book with plenty of sultry sexual content and violent bloodshed.
