The London of "Neverwhere" is the individuals who have gotten lost in the system.

Below, in London, strange fates await – a world that seems uncannily familiar. However, it's a completely strange world populated by otherworldly figures like the Earl who holds Court on a tube train, the girl Door, and the Angel dubbed Islington.

Richard Mayhew, a young businessman, was thrown out of his secure and routine existence and thrust into "Neverwhere" by a single act of kindness. Richard is going to learn more about this other London than he could have ever imagined. What a shame. Richard simply wants to go home, for that reason.
