One Night on the Island

Although dating writer Cleo would like to spend her thirtyth birthday alone, she is on a self-coupling quasi-sabbatical at her boss's request in an effort to rejuvenate herself and provide fresh insight to her column. Although the far-off Irish island she has reserved is rather distant from London, at least it offers her the opportunity to retreat into an opulent cabin and engage in some peaceful, alone self-care as she considers her options for a future in both her romantic and professional lives.

Mac is excited for some alone time as well. His life in Boston was falling apart in ways he couldn't face, and his soul-searching had led him to this same Irish island where he was hoping to find some peace and his origins. Regretfully, due to a scheduling error, the two individuals seeking privacy have secured the same one-bedroom retreat for precisely the same times.

Cleo and Mac are immediately at odds with one another, and they don't sure how they're going to get by until the weekly boat comes. However, as time passes, they don't appear to dislike one other's presence quite as much as they had anticipated...
