Seize the Night

Dark-Hunter: an eternal warrior who gave Artemis his soul in exchange for a single, fleeting moment of revenge against his foes. They promise to defend humanity against daimons and vampires that feed on humans for all of eternity in exchange. Since Valerius is a Roman and not a well-liked Dark-Hunter, the Hunters—who are mostly Greek—have a great deal of resentment against him and his civilization for surpassing them. To exacerbate matters, he is acutely aware of his pedigree and aristocratic upbringing. Thus, it is fitting that he encounters Tabitha Devereaux. She's sultry, seductive, and totally unprepared to give him any real thought. (In addition, Kyrian, a former Dark-Hunter and Val's worst nemesis, is Tabitha's sister-in-law.) Hunting and eliminating vampires is something Tabitha takes very seriously. Eventually, she and Val will have to deal with the most deadly of all Daimons—one that has survived to return from the dead and one that has deep resentment against them both. Val will need to let go, develop trust, and risk all in order to save a guy he despises and a woman who drives him crazy in order to triumph over evil.
