The novel describes this untamed and lonely country so realistically that it practically becomes a character in and of itself. Her captor, Ty, is not your typical guy. He is young, fit and completely gorgeous. This new life in the wilderness has been years in the planning. All he wants and loves is her. Is there enough love between them for Gemma to feel the same way about him in the scorching Australian heat, isolated from the outside world?
The narrative is told via a letter that Gemma sent to Ty, reminiscing about those unusual and unsettling months spent in the bush. Months when the boundaries between love and dependence and love and obsession become virtually indistinguishable.
