Sasha is over it. She finds it difficult to reply to another pointless, "urgent" email that is clearly not at all urgent, or to take part in the company's employee happiness program. Her pals haven't seen her in months. Sexual? It looks like a lot of work. It takes way too much planning to even make dinner. Sasha ran into a brick wall.

Traveling to the coastal resort she used to love as a youngster, she sets out with the purpose of finding serenity, trying yoga, and drinking kale smoothies. However, it's off-season, the hotel is in disarray, and she has to share the beach with just one other person—a sullen guy by the name of Finn, who appears to be just as stressed out as Sasha. When he's staring at her from his perch on her beloved rock, how can she communicate with nature? Additionally, they cannot agree on the best ways to deal with their burnout (e.g., manifesting, wild swimming, drinking scotch, ordering pizza to the beach).

Sasha and Finn are forced to have a conversation about everything when they start receiving strange messages on the beach that seem to be addressed to them. How did they become so exhausted? Is there anything that any of them used to love? (The response is surfing!) And the issue that they both attempt to avoid but ultimately fail to answer: what does the energy between them—which flares even in the face of their extreme fatigue—mean?
