The Club Dumas

Lucas Corso is a middle-aged mercenary who works as a book detective, tracking for rare copies for unscrupulous and rich clientele. Corso is called in to verify a portion of the original manuscript of Alexandre Dumas's The Three Musketeers that was left behind by a well-known bibliophile who was discovered dead. He quickly finds himself enmeshed in a complex story involving occult rituals, devil worship, and daring adventure with a cast of characters that uncannily resemble those from Dumas's masterwork. In this twisting cerebral excursion through the world of books, Corso follows the murderer from Madrid to Toledo to Paris with the help of a mystery beauty named after a Conan Doyle heroine.
