The human race is about to set. These days, the night is ruled by ravenous demons that feed on the shrinking populace that is compelled to hide beneath faded emblems of authority.

There are legends of a general known as the Deliverer, who once united all of humanity to vanquish the demons. Is the Deliverer's return really a myth, though? Maybe not.

Ahmann Jardir, who has transformed the desert tribes into an army capable of destroying demons, emerges from the desert. He calls himself Shar'Dama Ka, the Deliverer, and he is armed with two ancient weapons that support his claim: a spear and a crown.

However, the Northerners identify a dark, menacing figure known as the Warded Man as their own Deliverer.

The Warded Man and the Shar'Dama Ka were once pals. They are now bitter enemies. However, as new alliances are formed and old allegiances are put to the test, none is aware that a new breed of demon has emerged that is more dangerous and smarter than any previous one.
