One remarkable step is going to be taken by three regular ladies.

Skeeter, 22, just came home after his graduation from Ole Miss. Even though Skeeter has a degree, her mother will not be content until Skeeter puts a ring on her finger in 1962, Mississippi. Normally, Skeeter would find comfort in the company of her loving maid Constantine—the lady who reared her—but no one will tell Skeeter where Constantine has fled.

Raising her seventeenth white kid, Aibileen is a sage, regal black maid. After losing her own son, who passed away while his superiors turned a blind eye, something inside of her has changed. Even though she is aware that their hearts can break, she is very committed to the little child she watches for.

Aibileen's closest friend, Minny, is a tiny, chubby lady who is maybe the sassiest in Mississippi. She's a fantastic chef, but she can't control her mouth, which has cost her yet another job. At last, Minny gets a job working for someone who is too new to the area to be aware of her reputation. However, her new employer is not without mysteries.

Even though these ladies seem to be the most unlike from one another, they will yet collaborate on a covert endeavor that might endanger them all. Why, too? because the boundaries that delineate their town and their era are stifling them. In some cases, boundaries are intentionally crossed.

With flawless vocals, Kathryn Stockett crafts three remarkable women whose will to lead their own movement transforms a community and the perceptions of other women, mothers, daughters, caretakers, and friends. A timeless and universal tale about the lines we follow and those we don't, The Help is a profoundly compelling book full of sadness, comedy, and optimism.
