The Memory Keeper's Daughter

A snowstorm forces Dr. David Henry to give birth to his own twins on a cold winter's night in 1964. First born, his kid is in excellent health. However, he recognizes his daughter's Down syndrome right away once she is born. He justifies it by saying that he must protect his wife, Norah, but his choice, made in an instant, will have a lasting impact on all of their lives. He requests that his nurse transfer the infant to a facility and keep the information a secret forever. But the nurse, Caroline, is unable to part from the baby. Rather, she takes off for another city to raise the kid on her own. Knowing just that her daughter passed away at birth, Norah Henry is still grieving, which has a negative impact on their marriage. Their son Paul raises himself as best he can in a home that has become sterile with grief. In the meanwhile, Phoebe, the lost daughter, develops from a happy youngster into a dynamic young lady, and her mother loves her with the same ferocity as if she were her own.
