The release date for the English version of 'The Middle Place' by Kelly Corrigan is Jan 2008. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.

In her book, Corrigan states at the outset, "The thing you need to know about me is that I am George Corrigan's daughter, his only daughter."

She goes on to pay open homage to the first guy in her life.

George Corrigan comes out as a gigantic character with a contagious smile and a lively demeanor. He's a bright, confident advertising guy who was once an all-American lacrosse player and is now a part-time coach. His daughter seems happy enough to live in his reflected glory.

Kelly feels fortunate to have this significant life milestone, and her dad's perseverance proves to be her greatest advantage when she receives a breast cancer diagnosis when she is a young mother. Her dad's tenacity and determination will carry her through the next struggles, such as realizing that her "cure" would terminate her capacity to procreate and her desire to have a big family of her own.

Kelly speaks of her mother, her brothers, her husband, and their kids, but what keeps her going is the love of her father. Readers thus feel sorry for her when she discloses that George has also been diagnosed with cancer. At this lowest point, when she must confront not only her own but also her father's death, Kelly at last starts to show signs of recovery and becomes more of a wife, mother, and survivor. She is still her father's daughter, however.
