The Necromancer

Josh and Sophie Newman have returned home to San Francisco. Furthermore, they are both more uncertain about their futures than before. They've lost Scatty, none of them has learned the magics they'll need to defend themselves, and Dr. John Dee is still after them. The most unsettling thing, however, is that they now have to consider whether or not to believe Nicholas Flamel. Who can they trust?

Alcatraz: Perenelle Flamel's might was underestimated by Dr. Dee. She was too strong for Nereus, Alcatraz could not contain her, and she managed to unite with surprising friends. However, she wasn't the only prisoner on the island. Machiavelli has come to Alcatraz in order to unleash the menagerie of creatures that were kept behind the prison's protective sigils and bars onto San Francisco.

Even with Nicholas back at her side, Perenelle may not be able to handle a war this big, despite her growing weakness every day. To defend the city, Nicholas and Perenelle must battle, although doing so will most likely result in their deaths.

London: Dee has failed his Elder and is now an outlaw after failing to recover the two last pages of the Codex.

However, the magician is planning. He can take over the world with the Codex and the beasts on Alcatraz. All he needs is the Archons' assistance. However, in order for his scheme to succeed, he must bring the Mother of the Gods back to life. He'll need to train a necromancer for that.
