Boonsboro's historic hotel has seen war, peace, ownership changes, and even reports of hauntings. Now, the Montgomery boys and their eccentric mother are giving it a dramatic makeover. The family's architect, Beckett, spends much of his social life chatting business over pizza and beer. He has his sights set on another project, however, which involves the girl he has been dying to kiss since he was fifteen.

Following her divorce and return to her hometown, Clare Brewster manages the town's bookshop and quickly becomes a mother to three small lads. Clare, who is busy and doesn't have much time for romance, is captivated to Beckett's makeover of the ancient inn across the street and wants to investigate the structure and the guy who created it.

One room at a time, Beckett is glad to offer Clare a private tour as the big opening draws near. Though it's not a first date, these momentarily captured moments mark the start of something new and pave the way for the incredible journey that lies ahead.
