The Rabbit Girls

1989 in Berlin. Henryk, Miriam Winter's dying father, is receiving treatment as the wall between East and West crumbles. Henryk's hidden past starts to come to light as he calls out for a woman called Frieda and Miriam finds an Auschwitz tattoo concealed beneath his watch strap.

While looking through her mother's belongings, Miriam discovers an inmate uniform from the Ravensbrück women's camp while looking for additional hints about her father's past. Dozens of Frieda's letters to Henryk are hidden among its seams. The chilling reality about the young ladies who were experimented on in the camp known as the "Rabbit Girls" is exposed in the letters. Amidst their accounts of perseverance and sacrifice, Miriam also knits together a love tale that Henryk has had stashed away for nearly fifty years.

Motivated by these remarkable women, Miriam endeavors to breach the barriers she has erected around herself. Because hope can endure even the most dire circumstances.
