A brand-new standalone romance from Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, two New York Times bestselling writers.

Everything began when I threw a small party for few of my new acquaintances.

Though given that the invitees were all the ladies I'd learned my partner was secretly communicating to, the term "friends" may not be appropriate. Things took a turn when my now-ex, the guest of honor, arrived.

Unfortunately, the whole incident was seen by an unknown person. That night, I was in a temper and gave this lovely man an attitude as well. As if my night could get any worse, he told me he was really my landlord before he stormed out.

My tattoo parlor was housed in a building owned by Colby Lennon and three of his pals. I was the complete opposite of him. Wearing a tie, he had the confidence that comes with having years' worth of women fall at his feet, and he wasn't hesitant to ask for what he wanted—which, these days, was me.

I was disgusted by the fact that I was drawn to him. especially considering that I was meant to be on a self-imposed break from dating. However, it was impossible for the two of us to avoid one another. We became buddies and began to hang around. I even went so far as to establish guidelines for our "undates," as he had called them.

But ultimately, our intense desire got to be too much to handle, and we gave up. I became vulnerable and fell deeply in love with Colby.

There was nothing that could have ready me for the journey he led me on. Furthermore, I had no idea where the journey would lead me after it was all finished.

I all, everything nice has to end eventually, right?

However, I wasn't prepared for our ending.
