The School for Good and Evil

Two hundred years ago was when the first kidnappings occurred. In some years, two males were selected, in others, two girls, and occasionally one of each. Though first the selections seemed arbitrary, the pattern quickly became apparent. Every parent desired to have one kid who was always kind and lovely. The other was strange and unattractive, a born misfit. A rival couple, taken from childhood and carried off.

Sophie and Agatha, who are best friends, are going to find out this year where all the missing kids go—the legendary School for Good & Evil, where regular boys and girls get training to become fairy tale heroes and villains. Sophie, the most attractive girl in Gavaldon, has spent her whole life dreaming of being taken and placed in a magical realm. She is certain she will graduate from the School for Good with honours, a fairytale princess, with her glass shoes and pink clothes. Agatha, on the other hand, appears like a perfect match for the School for Evil with her formless black dresses, evil pet cat, and distaste for almost everyone.

However, when the two girls are washed into the Endless Woods, their fates are reversed. Agatha ends up in the School for Good, where she is forced to study animal communication and princess etiquette among charming princes and fair maidens, while Sophie is placed in the School for Evil to study uglification, death curses, and henchmen training. But what if Sophie and Agatha's error serves as the first hint as to their true identities?
