The Sorcerer in the North

After some time, the Araluens defeated the invaders under the leadership of Halt and the trainee Will, and Will is now a full-fledged Ranger with his own fief to maintain. The fief seems dull and drowsy, even until the arrival of the Skandians, at which point Will must confront the danger. Soon thereafter, Will embarks on a covert operation. Accompanied by his companion Alyss, Will finds himself thrust into a remarkable journey driven by apprehensions about magic. He has to ascertain which individuals are loyal to the monarch and which ones are vying for his crown.

Traitors, mounting panic, and time are the main enemies that Will and Alyss have to face. Although the king is waning, Will is forced to choose desperately between his friend's allegiance and his objective once Alyss is taken prisoner.
