The release date for the English version of 'The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires' by Grady Hendrix is Apr 2020. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.

This Southern-flavored supernatural thriller, set in the 1990s, features Steel Magnolias and Fried Green Tomatoes with Dracula. The story revolves on a women's reading club that has to defend her suburban town from a mysterious and attractive visitor who turns out to be a bloodsucking fiend.

Although Patricia Campbell had always envisioned a large life, she never felt smaller despite renouncing her nursing profession to marry a driven physician and have children. Her husband is far away, her children are ungrateful, the days are long, and she never seems to get everything done on her to-do list. She only has one thing to look forward to: her book club, which consists of moms from Charleston who are all passionate in real crime and suspenseful literature. The recent FBI siege of Waco is more likely to come up in these discussions than the highs and lows of marriage and parenting.

But the book club sessions get speculative about the newcomer when a sensitive and creative stranger settles into the neighbourhood. Although Patricia is initially drawn to him, she begins to think the newcomer is connected after a few local youngsters go missing. Taking the stance that he is either Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer, she starts her own inquiry. What she finds out is even more horrifying, and before long, she and her reading club are the only ones separating their invitee monster from the town they have blinded.
