The Waste Lands

After a few months, Roland's two new tet mates had developed into skilled gunslingers. Since Eddie Dean stopped using heroin, Odetta's two personalities have come together to become Susannah Dean, who is now stronger and more balanced. However, Roland changed the course of events by saving the life of Jake Chambers, a youngster who had already passed away in Roland's where and when, during his fight with The Pusher in 1977 New York. Even though Roland and Jake are now in separate universes, their shared insanity stems from the contradiction of twin memories. In order to reach the Dark Tower, Roland, Susannah, and Eddie need to lure Jake into Mid-World and then go down the Path of the Beam. However, nothing in Mid-World is simple. Our tet is trapped between the rival gangs of the Pubes and the Grays and stumbles onto the abandoned city of Lud along the route. Raising Blaine the Mono, a deranged train with a penchant for suicide expeditions and riddles, is the only way to escape Lud.
