The Wizard Heir

Seph McCauley, sixteen, has been expelled from one exclusive private school after another for the last three years. Furthermore, the issue is not with his attitude but rather with the succession of amazing coincidences—more recently, catastrophes—that happen after him. As a wizard, Seph is untrained, orphaned, and his talents are growing uncontrollably.

Following an unfortunate fire during an after-hours party, Seph is sent to the Havens, a boys' school located on the Maine coast that is isolated. The headmaster, Gregory Leicester, assures Seph that he will teach him magic and introduce him into his secret society of wizards. But when Seph finds out that training is expensive and that Leicester intends to exploit his pupils' abilities to further his own sinister goals, his excitement wanes.
