Warcross

Warcross is more than just a game to the millions of players who go on daily; it's a way of life. Ten years ago, the addiction began, and today it has a global fan following, with some people trying to profit and others just wanting to escape reality. Teenage hacker Emika Chen, who is struggling financially, hunts for players who are placing illicit bets on the game in order to collect a reward. However, survival in the cutthroat world of bounty hunting has not been simple. Emika, desperate for fast money, decides to take a chance and hacks into the worldwide Warcross Championships' first game. Unintentionally, she glitches into the action and becomes an overnight star.

Emika is taken aback when, instead of receiving an arrest warrant, she receives a call from the game's inventor, the mysterious young millionaire Hideo Tanaka, with an alluring offer. To find a security issue, he requires a spy within this year's competition, and he wants Emika for the position. Emika is swept off to Tokyo in the blink of an eye and forced into a world of fame and money she could only have imagined. But shortly after, she discovers a dark conspiracy that might have a significant impact on the Warcross empire as a whole.
